iTeraTEL Launches Fixed Wireless Internet Service

iTeraTEL has launched a new Fixed Wireless Internet service in select areas of the Greater Toronto Area.

The service is aimed at business locations where internet choices are limited or where the available wired services do not provide the speeds a business needs.

There are still many commercial and industrial areas across the GTA where fibre is not readily available. In some cases, businesses are working with older DSL or cable connections, or face significant construction costs and long lead times to bring fibre into their building.

Our Fixed Wireless service gives businesses another option.

Instead of relying on a traditional wired connection for the last mile, iTeraTEL can deliver internet service wirelessly from our network to the customer’s building. Service availability and speeds depend on the location and the wireless path to the building.

Primary or Backup Internet

Fixed Wireless can be used as a business’s primary internet connection, but it can also be a practical option for redundancy.

For businesses that rely on cloud applications, VoIP, Microsoft Teams, payment systems and remote access, losing an internet connection can quickly affect operations.

A Fixed Wireless connection can provide a second path into the building that is separate from the primary wired connection. This can be particularly useful for businesses looking for backup connectivity that does not simply follow the same physical route as their existing provider.

Our initial rollout is focused on select business areas across the Greater Toronto Area where companies have limited access to high-speed internet or would benefit from having an alternative provider.

Coverage is assessed one location at a time. We look at the distance from our network, the building and the wireless path before confirming whether service is available.
