Teams is the front end. The phone service itself runs on the iTeraTEL platform.
This means you can give Teams calling to the employees who want it while keeping other employees on regular IP phones. Everyone is still on the same phone system.

You Don't Have to Put Everyone on Teams
Most companies have different types of phone users.
Salespeople and office staff may want to work entirely from Teams. Reception may want a desk phone. Someone in a warehouse, retail location or common area may only need a phone with an extension.
You can mix them.
For example, you could have 10 employees using Teams and another 50 using regular IP phones. They can call each other, transfer call and be included in the same call queues and company call routing.
The desk phones don’t have to be Microsoft Teams phones. Commonly available IP phones can be used with the iTeraTEL platform.

Direct Number or Just an Extension
Not everyone needs their own outside phone number.
Employees who deal directly with customers can have their own business number. Other employees can simply have an extension and receive calls transferred internally.
The same applies whether the employee is using Teams or regular IP phone.

Keep the Numbers You Already Have
If you already have established business phone numbers, you don’t have to change them.
iTeraTEL can port your existing numbers to our platform. A Teams user can make and receive outside calls using their business number directly from Teams, while everyone else continues using their regular phone or extension.

Use Teams on Your Computer or Mobile Phone
Teams users can make and receive their business calls from the Teams application on their computer or through the Teams mobile app.
Employees who prefer a physical phone can use a commonly available IP phone on the same iTeraTEL phone system. It does not have to be a Microsoft Teams phone.

Using Teams doesn’t mean giving up the features of your regular business phone system. Teams users can be part of the same setup as your other users, including:

What happens if our Internet goes down?
An Internet outage at your office doesn’t have to stop incoming calls. Since the phone service is running on the iTeraTEL platform, incoming calls can be redirected to mobile phones, another office or another destination you choose. Teams users may also be able to continue using Teams over their mobile data connection. If Internet uptime is particularly important to your business, iTeraTEL can also provide a backup Internet connection.
